Q - How does BLACK CAT TOURS differ from the other dozen night time walking tours in Charleston?
A - We can guarantee quality. Unlike other night time walking tours, each Black Cat tour is given by
the owners, Mark R. Jones and Rebel Sinclair. Over the past decade Mark and Rebel have given more
than 10,000 tours.
When someone spends $15-$20 for a walking tour, they have the right to expect a professional and
experienced guide. BLACK CAT is also the only company where your tour guide will be a published
author, historian and paranormal investigator, not a college student working a summer job. We do not
hire new tour guides every spring and teach them stories to tell. Mark and Rebel are full-time, career
Charleston tour guides.
Q – How do we purchase tickets?
A – Tickets can be purchased from the Legends and Lore Ghost Theater @ 161 Church Street (across
the street from Tommy Condon's Irish Pub, one block from Market St.)

We accept all major credit cards, traveler's checks and cash (mostly American currency but the
occasional Euro is accepted and on occasions - Confederate bonds.) We DO NOT accept unruly
children or livestock as barter, but we will consider high quality rum and other distilled alcohol. Ask
your Black Cat guide for details.
Q – Are advance purchase /reservations required?
A – Advance purchase or reservations are recommended since we are limited by the city of Charleston
to no more than 20 people per tour.
Q - Why is THE WICKED WALK "Adults Only"?
A - It is a frank discussion of adult subjects - sex, prostitution, drinking, transsexuals, rape, murder,
and other fun subjects. If the discussion of ice cream flavors sold in a whore house offends your ...
please DO NOT take The Wicked Walk.
Q - Why doesn't the HAUNTED CHARLESTON tour allow children less than 13?
A - This is more than just a "ghost" tour. Your Black Cat Tours guides are also paranormal
investigators. In addition to hearing the chilling and romantic stories of Charleston's most famous
ghosts your Black Cat guide will also explore the explanation of how/why paranormal activity
occurs. Modern quantum physics is changing how we view the ghostly world. This tour is not
recommended for fundamentalists ... they tend to get upset with the tour guide and ruin the fun for
everyone else.
Q – Where do the tours meet?
A – 161 Church Street @ the Legends and Lore Ghost Theater (across the street from Tommy Condon's

Q - Where does the tour end?
A - The Haunted Charleston tour usually ends on King Street (three blocks from the Ghost Theater).
Your Black Cat guide will be happy to walk you back to the Market area.
The Wicked Walk ends in the Market area ... one block from the Ghost Theater.
Q – How long do the tours last?
A – Our walking tours last approximately 90 minutes and cover less than a mile. There are several
stops along the way and if someone considers that strenuous ... then think of your Black Cat walking
tour as the beginning of your new exercise regime.
During May-September it is recommended that customers bring along a bottle of water since it is
often hot and muggy in Charleston. The Black Cat guides frown on having to give mouth-to-mouth to
their customers; Having to call and wait for an ambulance disrupts the tour for the other customers.
Q - What is the Ghost Theater / Tour Combo?
A - For $24.95 you will be able to take either of the Black Cat Tours (Haunted Charleston or The
Wicked Walk) and the 30-minute Ghost Theater show. The best entertainment bargain in Charleston.
Q – What if it rains?
A – Tours will go on rain or shine unless there are severe conditions which include: lightening,
hurricanes, plagues of locusts, and an invading Yankee Army. Your Black Cat guide will make the

Q - Will I see a ghost on the Haunted Charleston tour?
A- Yes, if you sign up for the Ghost Theater / Tour combo. The half-hour long ghost theater is a
Hollywood state-of-the-art thrill show. Walls shake, windows rattle, doors slam and spirits float across
the room. It is the ONLY guaranteed ghost experience in Charleston.
If you only take the Haunted Charleston walking tour, then, no, you probably will not see a ghost.
Any of the other Charleston ghost tours who claim that you will see a ghost on their tour are lying to
you. A commercial ghost tour is NOT conducive to 'ghost hunting'. A ghost tour should be entertaining
and intriguing, but customers should have realistic expectations.
If you want to see a ghost, sign up with a paranormal investigative group in your area. That is what
